The main characteristics of this fuzz is furious and hairy sound, with a creamy/glassy cleanup. The silicon units have more grit/glassy cleanup and the germanium ones more cream and warm clean up. The Sound you can imagine from a boost to Texas Fuzz sounds using the Gypsy Face as a boost or drive to wild straight ahead fuzz sounds straight from the Sun. This Fuzz was designed to interact with your playing, dynamics, and the volume knob of your guitar.
You have two controls, Volume and Fuzz. With the volume around 12:00 it has exactly the same volume as an original '66 Fuzz Face. With full volume the Gypsy Face is Loud and great to boost and play with dynamics. The Fizz potentiometer regulates the amount of distortion that comes out of the pedal.

One favorite setting is the volume at 3:00 and the fuzz at 9:00. you can get the original 60's sounds for blues, rock, and psychedelic.
There is a screw that releases the back cover. Please remove the cover carefully as the battery is attached to the cover. Please do not move circuit board. They are fragile with vintage components.
